Progress Lighting P2603-09 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Will the Progress Lighting AirPro P2603-09 downrod fit any Progress Lighting ceiling fan?
Yes. The AirPro downrod, model P2603-09, is specified for use with any Progress Lighting ceiling fan. It is a fan accessory only, so it mounts to the fan's existing downrod coupling and canopy. If your fan is another brand, confirm the rod diameter and pin/coupling arrangement match before using it.
2) How much ceiling fan weight can a 12 inch AirPro downrod support?
35 lb maximum load. That covers most standard residential and light commercial fans, but check your fan's shipping weight against it before hanging, particularly on larger damp-rated outdoor fans. The downrod itself weighs 1.8 lb.
3) What are the actual dimensions and rod diameter of the P2603-09 downrod?
The rod measures 0.75 in x 0.75 in x 12 in, giving 12 inches of drop, and the overall product diameter is listed at 1 in with a 1.060 in width at the widest point (the coupling end). The 3/4 inch rod is the common Progress AirPro size.
4) Can I use this downrod on a covered patio or outdoor fan?
Yes, it is rated for indoor and outdoor use, with a plated steel finish for corrosion resistance. Keep it to covered locations consistent with your fan's own wet or damp rating, since the downrod rating does not change what the fan is listed for.
5) Does this downrod handle grounding for the fan install?
The rod is pre-drilled for proper electrical grounding, so you can land the ground at the rod as part of a code-compliant fan hang. Steel construction carries the bond through the assembly.
6) Can the AirPro downrod be flipped or mounted either direction?
No. It is a single-orientation rod, not reversible end for end, so the coupling end goes to the fan and the ball end to the canopy as supplied.
7) What finish is the P2603-09 and will it match my other fans?
Brushed Nickel, a plated grey-nickel tone. It is the standard AirPro BN finish, so it matches Progress Lighting fans ordered in Brushed Nickel across a building. For a fleet of mixed-finish fans, order the rod in the finish code matching each fan rather than standardizing on one.
8) Can I buy a single AirPro downrod or does it ship in a multi-pack?
Sold each, with an order multiple of 1 EA, so one rod is fine for a single fan. The factory carton holds 5 units if you are buying for a multi-unit or property-wide job.
9) Is there a Proposition 65 warning on this Progress Lighting downrod?
Yes, a Proposition 65 warning is required for the AirPro downrod. It is noted under Proposition 65 as the certification agency on record. Country of origin is China.
