1) Will the Keystone KT-LED63PSHID-EX39-8CSB-D screw into my existing 250W metal halide fixture?
It uses an EX39 mogul base, so it lands in the same socket as a 250W metal halide lamp, and Keystone rates it as the 250W MH equivalent. The important part is what happens behind the socket: this is a ballast bypass lamp (Lamp Technology B), wired direct to 120-277V line voltage. The existing HID ballast has to be removed or bypassed first. Drop it into a socket still fed by an MH ballast and you will damage the lamp.
2) What wattage and color temperature do I actually get, and where do I set them?
Both are selected on the lamp itself, not ordered as separate part numbers. Power Select gives 63W, 54W or 45W, and Color Select gives 3000K, 4000K or 5000K. 3) Can I put this on a 0-10V dimmer or a wall dimmer?
No. The Keystone 63W HID replacement is step dimmable only, meaning output steps between the selectable power levels rather than riding a dimming signal. There is no 0-10V driver input and no wireless control built in. If the job calls for smooth dimming or a lighting control system, this is the wrong lamp and you want a fixture-level solution with a dimmable driver instead.
4) Does this Keystone HID replacement lamp work on 277V, or do I need a different part for my 277V warehouse bays?
Same lamp either way. Input is 120-277V, so a mixed building running 120V in the shop and 277V in the high bays takes one part number throughout. That is a meaningful stocking advantage for a facility with more than one distribution voltage.
5) Is a 360 degree LED lamp right for an open-bottom warehouse fixture, or should I use a retrofit kit?
A 360 degree beam is the closest match to how an HID arc tube throws light, so it works well in open-bottom high bays, wall packs and vertical-burn parking garage fixtures where the reflector is doing the aiming. Where it falls down is enclosed or heavily gasketed fixtures with poor airflow, since a lamp-style LED depends on the fixture to shed heat. For those, a dedicated retrofit kit or a full fixture change is usually the better call. Note this is a complete lamp, not an LED module assembly.
6) How does 8500 to 9000 lumens compare to the 250W metal halide it's replacing?
Energy drops hard. At the top setting the lamp draws 63W against 250W of lamp load plus ballast draw, and Keystone rates it as the 250W MH equivalent. Bear in mind a metal halide lamp depreciates steeply over its life, so the LED's 8500 to 9000 lumens holds up against an aged MH that is putting out far less than its rated output. Rated life is 50,000 hours, and CRI is greater than 80.
