The MegaPress 90650 is a 3 inch by 3 inch fitting with press connections on both ends (P1 x P2), built from 316 stainless steel. It's made for 3 inch pipe, pressed with a MegaPress tool and the matching 3 inch jaw/ring set rather than threaded or welded.

The 90650 has a stop, so the pipe bottoms out at a fixed insertion depth inside the fitting. That sets your pipe lengths for you, but it also means you cannot slide the fitting along an existing run to make up a repair. For a repair cut where the pipe can't move, you need a coupling without a stop.

316 stainless is the corrosion-resistant option in the MegaPress line. Carbon steel MegaPress is used on black iron pipe for gas, compressed air, and hydronic service; the 316 stainless 90650 is what you specify where the media or the environment would attack carbon steel, such as wash-down areas, coastal or chemically aggressive settings. The fitting body is 316 stainless throughout and it is made in Germany.

Smart Connect is the feature Viega builds into the sealing element so an unpressed connection leaks visibly during pressure testing. On a 3 inch run with a lot of joints, that's how you find the one fitting that got missed before the system is closed in.

The 90650 ships as the fitting only, with its sealing element installed. You supply the press tool and the 3 inch MegaPress jaw or ring and actuator, plus pipe prep: square cut, deburred, and marked to insertion depth. No threading, no solder, no flux.
