FTG x P is what makes it a street elbow. One leg is a fitting end (FTG) sized to slip into the press socket of another MegaPress fitting, and the other leg is a press end (P) that goes over 2 inch pipe. That saves you a short nipple between two fittings when you need to turn 90 degrees right at a joint.

The press end is sized for 2 inch pipe, and MegaPress is the carbon and stainless press system for threadable steel pipe, so 2 inch black iron and galvanized both take it. Because this one is 316 stainless, it is the fitting to use where the galvanized or steel line runs through a corrosive or wet environment. For plain indoor black iron gas or hydronic work the carbon steel MegaPress elbow is the usual choice.

It presses, it does not thread. You press both ends with a press tool and the correct 2 inch MegaPress jaw or ring and actuator, no cutting threads, no pipe dope, no flame. The press end goes over the pipe; the FTG end slides into another MegaPress press socket and gets pressed there too. Plan for two presses per elbow.

316 stainless is the alloy you specify when chlorides or washdown chemicals are in play: coastal air, food processing, pool rooms, chemical lines, industrial drainage. Carbon steel MegaPress is fine on dry interior steel pipe, but it will corrode where 316 holds up. The 91750 is 316 stainless throughout.

Smart Connect is a deliberate leak path built into the sealing element so an unpressed joint weeps visibly during pressure testing instead of passing dry and failing later. It does not replace the press, it just makes a missed joint show itself when you fill and test the line. Press every joint, then test.

The 2 inch 91750 measures 6.528 x 6.016 x 2.894 inches, so allow roughly six and a half inches of run off the joint in each direction plus clearance for the press jaw to close around the socket. Jaw swing, not the fitting, is usually what decides whether a tight chase or a joist bay works.

Mechanically the ends are the same MegaPress 2 inch profile, but putting 316 stainless hard against carbon steel in a wet line invites galvanic corrosion at the joint. If you are running stainless for a reason, keep the stainless section stainless and transition deliberately rather than alternating materials joint to joint.
