Viega 92421 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) How far does the Viega 92421 stub-out extend out of the wall?
The two leg lengths are 3-1/2 inches and 8 inches, so the long arm gives you 8 inches of run and the short leg 3-1/2 inches. Overall the fitting measures 8.465 inches wide by 4.555 inches long by 0.927 inches high, which tells you the clearance you need inside a stud bay before the drywall goes on.
2) Can I use the Viega 92421 to bring a 1/2 inch PEX line out of the wall for a lav or toilet stop?
That is what the part is for. The press leg connects to your 1/2 inch PureFlow run, the elbow turns 90 degrees, and the 8 inch arm carries out through the wall so you can trim it and land a stop on it. You still need to supply the drop-ear bracket or support strap, the supply stop, and the escutcheon separately, since none of those come with the fitting.
3) Is the Viega 92421 stub-out copper or brass?
Brazed copper. That matters on two counts: it is a copper-alloy stub-out rather than a plastic one, so it takes a supply stop and an escutcheon the way a traditional copper stub does, and the FTG leg behaves like copper tube for soldering into a copper fitting socket. It is made in the USA.
