Viega 92540 PureFlow Press 90° elbow Zero Lead Bronze, 3/4'' x 3/4''

One end is a 3/4 inch press connection for PEX tubing and the other is a 3/4 inch male pipe thread. Viega lists it as P x MPT, so it is the fitting you use where a PEX run has to turn and land on a female threaded port, like a valve, a manifold tapping, or a threaded appliance connection. Both sides are 3/4 inch, so there is no size change through the elbow.

Only if that port is female threaded. The 92540 gives you a 3/4 inch male pipe thread on one leg, so it mates with a 3/4 inch FIP port and gets sealed with tape or pipe dope. If the valve port is female sweat or another press connection, this is the wrong fitting for that side, and you want a press by press elbow or the appropriate adapter instead.

It is a zero lead bronze body, which is what Viega uses across the PureFlow press line for potable water. Zero lead bronze is the material you want on a domestic hot and cold water system rather than standard red brass.

The fitting body measures 1.783 x 1.677 x 1.094 inches, so it tucks into a standard stud bay without trouble. What actually decides the layout is press tool clearance, not the fitting: you need room to get the jaw around the press sleeve square to the tubing, so plan a few inches of open access at the press end before you close up the wall.

No separate ring to buy. PureFlow press fittings carry the press sleeve on the fitting, so you slide the tubing on and press it with a Viega PureFlow press tool and the matching 3/4 inch jaw. There is nothing else in the box to account for, the fitting weighs 0.313 lbs on its own.

It is made in Germany. That matters if you are bidding public or federally funded work with domestic sourcing language in the spec, so check the country of origin requirement on the job before you commit to it.
