American Standard 9BP-30L – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Can I install the American Standard 9BP-30 acrylic back panel myself on an existing 3051 bath?
No. The 9BP-30 acrylic back panel is built for the American Standard 3051 and must be factory installed, so it has to be specified with the bath when it is ordered rather than added in the field afterward. If the unit is already on site or already set, a back panel cannot be added to it.
2) I am specifying a 3051 for a multi-family job where the tub back is exposed. What do I need to tell the order desk?
Call out the back panel at the time you order the bath, and name the color: 9BP-30W for WIB White or 9BP-30L for WIB Linen. Because the panel is factory installed, adding it later means replacing the unit, so the decision has to be made on the purchase order, not on site.
3) What exactly is a back panel like the American Standard 9BP-30 for?
It is the finished acrylic panel that closes in the back side of the 3051 bath, used when that side of the unit is exposed rather than tight against a wall. It is a finish panel, not a structural support and not a plumbing access door.
