American Standard 9BP-32L – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Can I add the American Standard 9BP-32 acrylic back panel to a bath I already have installed?
No. The 9BP-32 acrylic back panel has to be factory installed on the 3260 bath, so it is specified at the time the unit is ordered, not added later on site. If the tub is already set in the field, a back panel is not a retrofit item.
2) Will the 9BP-32 back panel fit any American Standard bath, or only one model?
It is made for the 3260 only. The 9BP-32 is a model-specific acrylic back panel, so it is not a universal skirt or apron that can be cut to fit another tub.
3) What color options does the American Standard 9BP-32 back panel come in?
Two: WIB White, ordered as 9BP-32W, and WIB Linen, ordered as 9BP-32L. Pick the one that matches the 3260 bath shell you are specifying, since the panel is built onto the unit at the factory and cannot be swapped afterward.
4) I am a property manager replacing a damaged back panel on a 3260 tub. Can I order just the panel?
The panel is not a field-replaceable part. Because 9BP-32 back panels are installed at the factory on the 3260, a damaged panel means replacing the bath unit rather than ordering the panel by itself.
5) Is the 9BP-32 a finished acrylic panel or a substrate that gets tiled over?
It is an acrylic finished panel supplied in a matching color (White or Linen), not a backer for tile or surround material. It leaves the factory as the exposed finished face on the back side of the 3260.
