American Standard 2764951.002 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Is the American Standard Colony Pro freestanding tub faucet a floor-mount unit, or does it mount on the tub deck?
It's a floor-mounted freestanding tub filler. The Colony Pro 2764951 is built for a tub that stands away from the wall with no deck ledge to drill, so the supply riser comes up off the floor next to the tub rather than through the rim.
2) Does the Colony Pro 2764951 tub filler include a hand shower?
Yes, a hand shower is part of the package, and it's rated at 1.8 gpm (6.8 Lpm). That matters if you're filling from the spout and rinsing with the wand, the wand flow is the lower of the two.
3) Can I use this freestanding filler with a drop-in or alcove tub against the wall?
It isn't the right choice there. This is a floor-standing filler meant to serve a tub sitting out in the room. An alcove or drop-in tub with a wall or deck behind it should get a wall-mount or deck-mount tub filler instead, otherwise you're running a floor riser next to a tub that already has a mounting surface.
4) What finishes does the American Standard Colony Pro freestanding tub faucet come in?
Three: polished chrome (2764951.002), legacy bronze (2764951.278), and brushed nickel (2764951.295). The suffix on the part number is the finish, so specify it when you order to match the drain, trim, and shower valve on the same bathroom.
5) Is this tub filler solid brass or plastic? I'm specifying for a rental property.
Brass body. American Standard builds the Colony Pro freestanding filler on a brass design, and the handle is a metal lever rather than plastic, which is what you want on a multi-family or hospitality opening where the fixture gets used hard and the lever takes the abuse.
6) Is this a single-handle tub filler or two-handle?
Single lever. The Colony Pro freestanding filler uses one metal lever handle for both volume and temperature, so there's one control to reach over the tub rim instead of separate hot and cold. Easier one-handed operation, which is the usual reason it gets picked for accessible or senior-housing baths.
7) What else do I need to order to finish a freestanding tub faucet install?
Plan on the rough-in supply valve and floor stub-outs, plus a tub waste and overflow drain assembly, which is a separate item from the filler. The 2764951 covers the exposed filler, lever handle, and hand shower. Coordinate the drain finish with the filler finish you pick, chrome, legacy bronze, or brushed nickel.
