American Standard 9024008EC.020 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) How does the Decorum wall-hung sink mount, and is a carrier included?
It hangs off the wall either on a concealed arm carrier or on wall support, and the carrier is supplied by others. Budget for the chair carrier or backing plate as a separate line item, and make sure the wall is blocked before the china goes up.
2) Is the American Standard Decorum wall-hung sink ADA compliant for a public restroom?
Yes, it is stated ADA and TAS compliant, so it is usable on Texas Accessibility Standards jobs as well as federal ADA work. Compliance still depends on your rough-in height and knee clearance at install, and on insulating the exposed supply and drain lines.
3) What does the EverClean surface on this American Standard sink actually do?
EverClean is an antimicrobial surface treatment fired into the china that inhibits growth of stain and odor causing bacteria, mold and mildew on the surface. It is not a disinfectant and doesn't replace cleaning, but in high-traffic restrooms it slows the staining that makes a bowl look dirty between services.
4) Does this Decorum sink have an overflow, and where is it?
It has a rear overflow, so it takes a standard grid or pop-up drain with an overflow port. If your spec calls for a no-overflow bowl with an open grid strainer, this isn't the right basin.
5) Is this American Standard sink suitable for a commercial restroom or is it a residential lavatory?
It's built for commercial duty: wall-hung vitreous china on a concealed arm carrier, EverClean antimicrobial surface, and ADA/TAS compliance. That combination is what school, healthcare, and multi-family common-area restrooms are typically specified with.
6) Does water pool on the deck of this wall-hung lavatory?
The deck is recessed and self-draining, so faucet splash runs back to the bowl instead of sitting behind the spout. That's one less standing-water spot to wipe in a commercial restroom.
7) What finish and material is the Decorum wall-hung sink, and is any other color offered?
White vitreous china, model 9024008EC.020. White is the only color offered on this model.
