American Standard M962937-0020A – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What is the American Standard M962937 elbow handle used for?
It's a replacement handle for American Standard Portsmouth faucets. The elbow (wrist blade) shape lets you operate the faucet with a forearm or elbow instead of gripping it, which is why these turn up in exam rooms, kitchens, and washrooms where hands are dirty or gloved. It's the handle only, sold as a repair part, not a complete faucet.
2) Can I convert a standard Portsmouth faucet to elbow handles without changing the whole faucet?
Yes, that's the point of a handle repair part. Swapping the existing Portsmouth handles for M962937 elbow blades changes how the faucet is operated while the body, valves, and supplies stay in place. Keep the trim finish in mind: this handle is chrome.
3) I'm replacing a worn Portsmouth handle in a facility restroom. Do I get one handle or a hot and cold pair with M962937?
M962937-0020A covers a single elbow handle. For a two-handle Portsmouth lavatory or kitchen faucet you'd order two to do the fixture, and across a floor of restrooms count one per handle, not one per faucet.
