American Standard 7236068C.020 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Does the American Standard Evolution 7236068C air bath come with a drain, or do I have to order one separately?
The drain is a separate order. The Evolution Deep Soak air bath requires the Deep Soak Max Drain, which is not included with the tub, so add it to the order along with the tub or the install stalls at rough-in.
2) What size rough opening does the Evolution 72 x 36 drop-in bathtub need?
The tub is a 72 x 36 inch drop-in, so the deck cutout and framed platform are built around those nominal dimensions. It is an acrylic tub with fiberglass reinforcement and a pre-leveled bottom, so it sets on a flat, level subfloor inside the platform rather than on a mortar bed or adjustable feet.
3) Can the American Standard Evolution 7236068C be installed as an undermount instead of a drop-in?
Yes. Along with the standard drop-in deck installation, the Evolution Deep Soak air bath offers an undermount option, so it can be set below a stone or solid surface deck if that is the look the job calls for.
4) Is this tub freestanding or does it need a deck built for it?
It needs a deck. The Evolution 72 x 36 is a drop-in, meaning it drops into a framed and finished platform with the rim supported on the deck, or it can be undermounted below a finished deck surface. There is no finished apron on the tub itself, so the surround is part of the job.
5) What does the EverClean system on this American Standard air bath actually do?
EverClean is built into the Evolution air bath system to address buildup inside the air channels. It is a standard feature on this tub, not an add-on option, which is why these units get specified in multi-family and hospitality work where nobody is doing per-unit maintenance on a jetted tub.
6) Does the Evolution deep soak tub have armrests, or is the bathing well plain?
Two armrests are molded into the shell, so they are part of the acrylic, not applied trim that can loosen or stain. Combined with the deep soak well, that is what separates this from a standard 72 x 36 drop-in.
7) What color does the American Standard 7236068C bathtub come in?
White only, ordered as MPN 7236068C.020. If a job requires matching bath fixtures across a floor of units, the single finish makes standardizing straightforward.
