The wall supply takes a 1/2 inch NPT female inlet at the wall and gives a 1/2 inch NPSM male outlet for the hose. That NPSM male thread is the standard hose connection, so the supplied 59 inch hose threads straight on with its washer, no adapter.
3) Does this American Standard hand shower kit meet a 2.0 GPM low-flow requirement?
Maximum flow is 2.0 gpm (7.6 Lpm). Spray by spray: turbine runs 1.5 gpm max, full spray 2.0 gpm max, and the combination setting 2.0 gpm max. So no setting exceeds 2.0 gpm, which is what most low-flow spec sheets and water conservation programs ask for on a hand shower.
4) Can I use this hand shower kit with my existing shower valve, or is a valve included?
No valve or valve trim is in the box. The kit starts at the wall supply elbow, which needs a 1/2 inch NPT female connection from your supply drop, so you keep your existing pressure balance or thermostatic valve and run the outlet to the elbow. On a diverter setup it can also share a valve with an overhead head.
5) What finish does the FloWise 1662843 shower system come in?
Chrome only, ordered as part number 1662843.002. If the other trim in the bathroom is brushed nickel or matte black, this kit will not match, so plan on a chrome valve trim and chrome accessories alongside it.
