American Standard 1660113.002 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Does the American Standard FloWise 1660113 showerhead meet 2.0 gpm low-flow requirements?
The FloWise Traditional fixed showerhead is rated 2.0 gpm (7.6 L/min) maximum. Full spray and combination spray both run at 2.0 gpm max, and the turbine spray drops to 1.5 gpm. For facilities standardizing on 2.0 gpm heads, this qualifies on all three settings.
2) Is the arm and escutcheon included with the FloWise 1660113, or just the showerhead?
Showerhead only. No shower arm or flange is supplied, so if you are replacing a complete assembly or roughing in new, order the arm and escutcheon separately.
3) Does the FloWise showerhead stay on the setting the last user picked?
No, and that is the point of it. The auto return feature defaults the head back to the 1.5 gpm turbine spray after use, so the next person starts at the lowest flow setting. In hotels, dorms, and gyms that is where the stated water savings of up to 40 percent actually come from.
4) Will the FloWise 1660113 thread onto my existing shower arm?
It connects to a standard 1/2 inch NPT shower arm, which is the universal thread on residential and commercial shower arms in North America, so it swaps onto an existing arm without changing the rough-in. Wrap the arm threads with PTFE tape before installing.
5) Will a low-flow showerhead like the FloWise still perform on a building with low water pressure?
The FloWise Traditional head has a pressure-compensating flow control device, so flow stays consistent as supply pressure varies rather than surging on high-pressure risers and dropping off on upper floors. That is the practical reason to pick it over a plain restricted-orifice head in multi-story or multi-family buildings.
6) What spray settings does the American Standard FloWise 1660113 have?
Three: turbine spray at 1.5 gpm, full spray at 2.0 gpm, and a combination spray at 2.0 gpm. The head is also angle adjustable on the ball joint, so you can aim it for a shorter user or an accessible stall without moving the arm.
7) What finish does the American Standard 1660113 showerhead come in?
Polished chrome, ordered as part number 1660113.002. It is the single finish offered on this FloWise Traditional head, which makes it straightforward to match across a building where the existing trim is chrome.
8) Should I use a fixed showerhead or a handheld for a unit turnover?
A fixed head like the FloWise Traditional mounts directly to the arm with nothing hanging off it, which is what most property managers want for rental turnovers and high-traffic showers: fewer parts to break, no hose to replace, and less chance of tampering. Choose a handheld instead when you need accessible bathing or a cleanable tub surround.
