American Standard 356921.02 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Does the Lucerne 356921 sink come with a wall hanger or do I need concealed arms?
The wall hanger ships with the sink, so it can be hung off a backing plate in the wall as supplied. It's also built to be carried on concealed arms if those are being furnished by others, which is the usual choice on ADA-style installs where the front of the bowl has to stay clear. Either way, blocking or a carrier in the wall is your responsibility.
2) Is there an overflow on the American Standard Lucerne 356921?
No overflow. This is the less-overflow version of the Lucerne, which is what commercial and institutional specs often call for because there's no hidden overflow channel to collect scale or biofilm. If your local code or spec requires an overflow on a lavatory, pick a Lucerne drilled with one instead.
3) What is the extra hole on this Lucerne sink for, and what size is it?
It measures 1-3/8 inches (35 mm) in diameter and takes a soap or lotion dispenser. It has to be a long shank dispenser, and that dispenser is not supplied with the sink, so add it to the order if the washroom needs one.
4) What else do I need to order to finish a Lucerne 356921 installation?
Plan on a single-hole faucet, a drain assembly and supplies, and P-trap, none of which come with the bowl. If the washroom needs a deck-mounted dispenser, order a long shank soap or lotion dispenser separately. Concealed arm carriers are also by others if you're not using the included wall hanger.
5) What finish does the Lucerne wall-hung sink come in?
White only, part number 356921.02. There's no other color offered on this drilling, which makes it easy to standardize across a building where every washroom lav is expected to match.
6) What material is the Lucerne 356921 lavatory made of, and will it hold up in a public restroom?
Vitreous china. The glazed surface resists staining and cleans up with standard restroom chemicals, which is why this bowl shows up so often in schools, offices and multi-family common areas. It's a rigid, non-flexing material, so the wall support behind it has to be solid.
7) Does water pool on the deck of the Lucerne wall-hung sink?
The deck is self-draining, and the back and side splash shields are contoured so water runs back toward the bowl rather than sitting on the ledge or running down the wall. That matters in a high-traffic washroom where standing water on the deck becomes a cleaning complaint. The bowl itself is D-shaped with a faucet ledge for the single-hole trim.
