American Standard 2854128.02 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Does the American Standard Madera 2854128 toilet come with a flush valve, or do I order that separately?
It ships as a complete system: the elongated floor mount flushometer bowl plus a manual piston-operated flush valve rated at 1.28 gpf/4.8 Lpf. The bowl is top spud. A seat is not included, so plan on ordering an elongated commercial seat with it.
2) Is the Madera 2854128 toilet the right height for an ADA accessible restroom stall?
The bowl has a 16-1/2 inch (419 mm) rim height, which is the chair height American Standard builds for accessible applications. Final seat height depends on the seat you pair with it, since the bowl ships less seat.
3) How much weight can the Madera 2854128 bowl support?
It is rated for a 2,500 lb (1,134 kg) static weight load, which is why it gets specified for high traffic and bariatric-adjacent public restrooms.
4) Does this American Standard toilet clear waste well enough for a busy public restroom?
It carries the maximum 1,000 gram MaP score, the top of the MaP test scale, at 1.28 gallons per flush. That is the performance level facility buyers look for when standardizing high-use restrooms.
5) What keeps the manual piston flush valve from running on?
The valve uses DynaClean self-cleaning wiper spring technology: an integral wiper spring cleans the refill orifice on every flush, which is the debris buildup that normally causes a piston valve to run on. The handle is non-hold open, so it shuts off automatically even if a user holds it down.
6) Is this a manual flush valve or a sensor flush valve?
Manual. The 2854128 system uses a piston-operated flush valve with a lever handle, not an infrared sensor. If your spec calls for touchless flushing, this is not the right system.
7) Will a round front seat fit the Madera 2854128 bowl?
No. The bowl is elongated, so it needs an elongated seat. It ships less seat, so you specify a commercial open-front elongated seat separately.
8) What does the EverClean surface on the Madera actually do for maintenance?
EverClean is a permanent surface treatment fired into the china that inhibits growth of stain and odor-causing bacteria, mold and mildew on the surface. It does not replace cleaning, but it slows the staining that drives repeat scrubbing in high-traffic restrooms. The bowl also has a condensation channel to handle sweating.
9) What color and part number do I order for the Madera chair height flushometer toilet system?
It is sold in white only, ordered as American Standard part 2854128.02.
