American Standard M916808-2240A – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What finishes does the American Standard Princeton M916808 lever handle come in?
Two finishes: polished chrome, ordered as M916808-0020A, and oil rubbed bronze, ordered as M916808-2240A. Pick the one that matches the rest of the existing Princeton trim rather than the spout, since a mismatched handle is the most visible part of the valve.
2) I manage apartments with American Standard Princeton bath faucets and the handles are broken. Can I just replace the handle?
Yes, that's exactly what this part is for. The M916808 is a service handle sold on its own, so you can swap a cracked or stripped lever without pulling the valve or re-piping. Order by finish: 0020A for chrome, 2240A for oil rubbed bronze. Confirm the faucet you're working on is a Princeton model, since the handle is specific to that trim line.
3) Do I get one handle or a hot and cold pair with the M916808?
Each part number covers the metal lever handle itself as a service item, so for a two-handle Princeton faucet plan on ordering the quantity you need for both hot and cold in the same finish.
