American Standard Pressure Assist 1.1 gpf/4.2 Lpf Left-Hand Trip Lever EverClean Tank With Tank Cover Locking Device - AMS-4142601

Left-hand. The 4142601 tank ships with a chrome-plated trip lever mounted on the left side of the tank. If the bowl and the walls around your opening need the handle on the right, this is the wrong tank for that installation.

Tank only. The 4142601 is a commercial toilet tank, so it is ordered as a replacement for a damaged or failed pressure-assist tank, or paired with a matching American Standard bowl to build a two-piece toilet. Pressure-assist tanks are not interchangeable with gravity tanks on the same bowl, so match the bowl to a pressure-assist configuration.

No. Coupling components ship with the tank, so the hardware that mates it to the bowl is in the box. You will still supply the water supply line, the closet bolts for the floor flange, and the bowl itself, since this is the tank only and not a complete toilet.

The TCLD locks the china lid to the tank so it cannot be lifted off. It is included with the 4142601. That matters in correctional facilities, schools, transit restrooms, stadiums and any public restroom where an unsecured lid is a vandalism or theft problem, or where a maintenance team wants the internal pressure vessel left alone.

Pressure assist, like the 4142601, is the usual choice where flush volume is high and callbacks for double-flushing are expensive: offices, schools, restaurants, stadiums. It forces the 1.1 gallon charge into the bowl under line pressure for a stronger clearing action. The tradeoffs are noise, which rules it out for hotel guest rooms and multi-family bedrooms next to a bathroom wall, and a dependence on adequate incoming water pressure. Gravity is quieter and simpler to service; pressure assist moves more waste on less water.

EverClean is an antimicrobial surface treatment on the china that inhibits the growth of stain and odor causing bacteria, mold and mildew on the glaze. It is on the tank surface itself, so it does not wear off with cleaning. It does not replace a cleaning schedule, it slows the staining between cleanings, which is what a janitorial contractor on a fixed route cares about.
