American Standard 3697001.02 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Does the American Standard Priolo 3697001 bowl come with a flush valve or tank?
No tank and no flushometer. The Priolo 3697001 is a flushometer bowl only, and it ships less seat as well. You supply a flush valve that works in the 1.1 to 1.6 gpf (4.2 to 6.0 Lpf) range, a 1-1/2 inch spud connection to match the bowl inlet, and a seat. Budget for all three on the job.
2) Is the Priolo 3697001 a back outlet or floor outlet toilet?
Back outlet, floor mounted. The waste leaves through the rear wall rather than down through the floor, so it is the bowl you use where the drain is carried in the wall. If your rough-in drops through the slab, this is the wrong bowl and you need a floor outlet (bottom outlet) flushometer bowl instead.
3) Is this American Standard Priolo bowl ADA chair height?
The bowl sits at 16-1/2 inches (419 mm) chair height, which American Standard designates for accessible applications. Rim height of the finished fixture also depends on the seat you add, so factor that in when you are working to a required seat-top height.
4) Will the Priolo 3697001 work with a 1.28 gpf flushometer?
Yes. The bowl is rated as a High Efficiency Toilet operating anywhere from 1.1 to 1.6 gpf (4.2 to 6.0 Lpf), so a 1.28 gpf valve falls inside its range. That range also lets a facility standardize one bowl across buildings on different water-use rules.
5) What spud size does this back spud elongated bowl take?
1-1/2 inch inlet spud, entering at the back of the bowl. Order a flush valve with a 1-1/2 inch outlet and a back spud connection; a top spud valve will not line up with this fixture.
6) How well does this bowl handle heavy commercial traffic and clogging?
It carries a Maximum Performance (MaP) score of 1,000 grams across the 1.1 to 1.6 gpf range, which is the top of the MaP scale for waste removal in a single flush. Flushing is direct-fed siphon jet through a fully glazed 2-1/8 inch (54 mm) trapway, so the passage is smooth all the way through. That combination is what schools, stadiums and healthcare facilities look for when call-backs for stoppages are the real cost.
7) Is the Priolo 3697001 elongated or round front, and what color is it?
Elongated bowl, and it is sold in white only, part number 3697001.02. The bowl also has a condensation channel, which helps in humid or high-use restrooms where sweating china drips onto the floor.
8) What does EverClean actually do on this American Standard bowl?
EverClean is an antimicrobial surface fired into the china that inhibits growth of the bacteria, mold and mildew that cause stains and odor on the fixture surface. It reduces how fast the bowl discolors between cleanings; it is not a substitute for cleaning and it does not treat the water.
