American Standard M964970-0130A – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What finishes does the American Standard M964970 square hand shower come in?
Three: Polished Nickel (M964970-0130A), Legacy Bronze (M964970-2780A), and Brushed Nickel (M964970-2950A). The finish is the only thing that changes between them, so if you're matching a valve trim or tub filler already installed, order the code that matches your existing American Standard finish rather than eyeballing it.
2) Does the American Standard M964970 include the shower hose, or is that ordered separately?
The hose comes with it. M964970 is sold as a square hand shower and hose together, so you are not sourcing a separate flex line to complete the assembly.
3) Is the M964970 a complete shower kit with a bar or holder, or just the wand and hose?
Just the handshower head and its hose. There is no slide bar, wall bracket, or supply elbow in the package, so if the opening doesn't already have a holder and outlet, plan on ordering those separately along with the valve trim.
4) For a multi-family or hotel bathroom refresh, can I standardize on one American Standard handshower across units with different trim finishes?
Yes. The M964970 square handshower and hose is the same part in all three finishes, so a property manager can spec one model across a building and just change the finish suffix per unit: 0130A polished nickel, 2780A legacy bronze, 2950A brushed nickel. Same head, same hose, one line item to reorder.
5) Is this a handheld shower or a fixed showerhead?
Handheld. The M964970 is a square-face hand shower on a flexible hose, meant to come off a holder or slide bar for washing down a tub, bathing a child, or ADA-style seated showering. If you want a fixed head on a shower arm, this is the wrong item.
