American Standard Town Square S 6-1/4-Inch 2.5 gpm/9.5 L/min Fixed Showerhead - AMS-1660516

The Town Square S fixed showerhead is rated 2.5 gpm (9.5 L/min). That is the standard maximum federal flow rate, so it will not satisfy jurisdictions or green building programs that cap showerheads at 2.0 or 1.8 gpm. For those projects you need a lower-rated head. A pressure-compensating flow control device inside keeps the spray consistent as building water pressure varies, which matters in multi-story properties where upper floors see lower pressure.

Yes. It's a fixed wall-mount showerhead that threads onto the shower arm, so replacement is a hand-tool job with thread tape, no valve or wall work. That makes it straightforward for property maintenance turns where you are only refreshing the head.

Three finishes: chrome (part 1660516.002), polished nickel (1660516.013), and brushed nickel (1660516.295). If you are matching an existing Town Square S trim package in a bathroom remodel, order by that suffix, since the base number is identical across all three.

Single function only. It delivers one drenching spray pattern with no setting selector. If a tenant or client wants massage, mist, or pause modes, this is the wrong head and you want a multi-function model instead.

No. The Town Square S 1660516 is the showerhead only, so if you are roughing in a new shower or replacing corroded trim, order the arm and escutcheon separately in a matching finish.

The head measures 6-1/4 inches, giving a wide drenching spray from a fixed position. It is a full-size face rather than a compact head, so allow for its coverage when the shower arm sits close to a glass panel or a low ceiling.

The spray nozzles are built to resist clogging and wipe clean, so mineral buildup in hard-water buildings can be cleared by rubbing the nozzle face by hand rather than soaking or disassembling the head. That is a real maintenance saver across a portfolio of units.
