American Standard Town Square S Pedestal Leg - AMS-56001

The Town Square S pedestal leg is made to pair with American Standard 0297 pedestal tops. It is sold as the leg only, so the basin is a separate order. Together the assembled sink measures 30 x 22-1/2 x 35 inches (761 x 571 x 889 mm).

Just the base. The 56001 is the pedestal column alone, in fire clay, and it supports a 0297 series pedestal top. If you are replacing a cracked pedestal and keeping the bowl, this is the right part; if you need the whole fixture you have to order the top as well.

35 inches to the rim with a 0297 top, and the bowl footprint runs 30 inches by 22-1/2 inches (761 x 571 x 889 mm overall). Check that against your rough-in: the drain and stops need to sit inside the column, and a 35 inch rim height is taller than a standard 31 inch vanity, which matters if you are swapping a cabinet for a pedestal in a unit turn.

White only, ordered as part number 56001.02. There is no other color on the Town Square S leg, so if your existing basin is a bone or linen tone the column will not match.

Fire clay is a dense, hard-wearing vitreous body and the Town Square S leg is built in it, which is why pedestal lavatories of this type hold up in light commercial and multi-family use. Keep in mind what a pedestal does and does not do: it conceals the trap and supply stubs but it does not provide the knee clearance an accessible lavatory needs, so for barrier-free fixture counts you want a wall-hung bowl with an open front instead.

Plan on the 0297 top. The 56001 column is cut and shaped to that specific American Standard basin, and pedestal legs are not a universal fit: the bowl underside, the column crown, and the mounting relationship differ by model. Matching a leg to an unrelated basin usually leaves the rim out of level or the trap exposed.

Beyond the 56001 leg and the 0297 top, the faucet, the drain assembly, the P-trap, and the supply stops and risers all come separately, as they do on any pedestal lavatory. Pick a decorative chrome or matching-finish trap and supplies if the column leaves any of the rough plumbing visible from the side.
