The Washbrook urinal takes a 3/4 inch (19 mm) top spud inlet and a 2 inch (51 mm) outlet connection. So the rough-in needs a 3/4 inch supply stub to the spud and a 2 inch waste. If your existing carrier or waste is roughed for a different outlet size, that has to be corrected before the fixture goes on the wall.

It ships as a system: vitreous china urinal, manual piston flush valve, and wall hangers. You are not sourcing a separate valve or a separate mounting kit. What you still supply on site is the supply stop and rough plumbing, the waste connection, and the wall backing or carrier the hangers fasten into.

0.125 gpf (0.5 Lpf), which is the pint-flush class rather than the older 1.0 or 0.5 gpf urinals. If you are standardizing a building on low-consumption fixtures, that matters two ways: your drain line carry needs to be sound, and the flush valve on any adjacent urinal should match so a maintenance tech does not swap a 1.0 gpf valve onto a pint bowl.

This Washbrook is manual, piston operated, with a non-hold-open handle that shuts the valve off automatically so it cannot be held open. Manual is the lower-maintenance choice where you do not want batteries or a transformer and sensor range problems, and it is common in maintenance shops, schools, and back-of-house restrooms. Go sensor operated where the spec calls for touchless in a public or healthcare restroom.

Run-on is usually a fouled refill orifice in the valve. The Washbrook valve uses DynaClean self-cleaning wiper spring technology, an integral wiper spring that cleans the refill orifice on every flush to help prevent valve run-on. In hard water or high-traffic restrooms that is the failure mode that generates the most callbacks on a piston valve.

The china has an extended side that gives some privacy on its own, which helps where openings are tight and a full screen will not fit between fixtures. It is not a substitute for a partition where code or the design requires one, but it does reduce the need for screens between adjacent fixtures in a utility or back-of-house restroom.

Washdown action. Water sheets down the bowl face rather than siphoning, which is what makes a 0.125 gpf flush workable on a vitreous china urinal. Vitreous china also wipes clean and holds up to commercial cleaners, which is why it is the standard body material for institutional restrooms.
