Blanco 222466 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Will the Blanco 222466 sink grid fit any Blanco sink, or only the Performa bar sink?
It is custom-fitted for Blanco PERFORMA bar sinks only. Blanco builds each grid to the footprint of a specific bowl, so a grid cut for the Performa bar sink will not sit correctly in a larger Performa kitchen bowl or a different Blanco series. Match the grid to the bar sink model you actually have, by Blanco part number 222466.
2) Does this Blanco bar sink grid block access to the drain?
No. The grid has a rear drain opening, so the strainer and drain stay reachable with the grid in place. That also means it has an orientation, set the cut-out toward the drain end of the bowl when you drop it in.
3) Will a stainless grid scratch the bottom of my bar sink?
The 222466 grid rides on non-skid protective feet and has side bumpers, so the stainless frame does not sit metal-to-metal against the bowl or slide around when you drop a pan in. The feet also hold it up off the base so water drains underneath instead of pooling under the grid.
4) Is a bottom grid worth adding to a bar sink, or is a floating grid better?
A bottom grid like the 222466 sits on the base of the bowl and takes the impact from cookware, glassware and utensils, protecting the sink surface. A floating grid instead spans across the bowl at rim level and gives you a working or draining shelf above the water. They do different jobs, and Blanco sells both plus colanders and cutting boards for the same bowls, so buyers who want in-sink workspace as well as bowl protection typically run a bottom grid and add an accessory on top.
5) What material is the Blanco 222466 grid made of, and will it rust in a wet bar sink?
It is stainless steel, described by Blanco as corrosion-resistant. That matters in a bar sink that stays wet and sees citrus and mixers. It is also dishwasher safe, so you can run it through a cycle rather than scrubbing it by hand.
6) Can I use the Blanco 222466 as a drying rack instead of leaving dishes on the counter?
Yes, it doubles as an in-sink drying rack. Because it stands clear of the bowl bottom, water off glassware, utensils and plates drains under the grid and out the drain rather than sitting on the counter, which is the usual reason property managers and bar operators add one to a small prep bowl.
7) Is the 222466 available in any finish other than stainless?
Stainless steel is the only finish for this grid, ordered under Blanco part number 222466. If your Performa bar sink is a coated or granite composite model and you want a matching look, Blanco's colour-matched grid options are separate part numbers rather than a finish choice on this one.
