Blanco 224387 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Which Blanco sinks does the 224387 colander actually fit?
The Blanco 224387 mesh colander basket is built to sit inside all PRECISION 16-inch and QUATRUS sink bowls, with bar sinks the one exception. If your bowl is a Blanco bar sink, this basket won't drop in correctly and you need a smaller accessory sized to that bowl.
2) Can this Blanco basket be used on the countertop as well as in the sink?
Yes. The 224387 has non-skid protective feet so it can sit on a counter without sliding or marking the surface, and the same feet keep it off the sink floor when it's used in the bowl. That makes it a drying rack on the counter and a colander in the sink.
3) Is the Blanco 224387 a sink grid or a colander?
It's a stainless steel mesh basket, not a flat bottom grid. The mesh means water and rinse water pass straight through, so it works as a colander for produce and as a drying basket for dishes. If you're looking for a flat protective grid that shields the sink floor from pans, that's a different Blanco accessory sized per bowl model.
4) What is the Blanco colander made of, and can it go in the dishwasher?
Stainless steel construction, and it's dishwasher safe. For a rental kitchen or a multi-family unit turn, that matters: it can be run through a cycle between tenants rather than replaced, and the steel won't rust out the way a coated wire basket does once the coating chips.
