Blanco 227689 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Which Blanco sink does the 227689 Quatrus Ergon colander fit?
The 227689 colander is custom-designed for the Quatrus R15 Ergon farmhouse sink (Blanco 525243). It hangs and slides along the inner ledge inside that bowl, so the ledge geometry is what makes the fit work. If your sink has no inner ledge, the colander will still sit on a counter on its feet but it won't suspend over the bowl.
2) Will the Blanco Ergon colander scratch my countertop when I set it down?
No. It has non-skid protective feet so it can be set directly on a countertop without sliding or marking the surface, and those same feet keep it off the sink base when it's lifted out of the ledge.
3) Is the 227689 a sink protector grid that sits in the bottom of the bowl?
No. It's a ledge-mounted colander, not a bottom grid. It suspends from the inner ledge of the Quatrus R15 Ergon sink and slides along it. If you want something to protect the base of the bowl from pots and knocks, you need a bottom grid sized to that specific sink model instead.
4) Is the Blanco 227689 colander stainless steel, and can it go in the dishwasher?
Made of stainless steel in a satin polish finish, and it is dishwasher safe. For multi-family or hospitality kitchens that matters, since it can be run through the same cycle as the rest of the prep gear rather than hand-washed.
5) Can this Blanco colander be used as a dish drainer, not just for rinsing produce?
Both. The 227689 works as a colander for rinsing fruit and vegetables and as a drying rack for dishes, draining straight into the bowl below while it sits on the sink ledge. That's the point of the sliding ledge mount, it keeps prep and drying off the counter.
6) How many finish options does the Blanco 227689 colander come in?
One: satin polish stainless. There is no coated or matte black version of this accessory, so it pairs with stainless sink hardware rather than matching a painted or composite sink colour.
