Blanco 234691 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Will the Blanco 234691 sink grid fit any farmhouse sink, or only the Profina 36 inch?
It's cut to one sink: the BLANCO PROFINA 36 inch farmhouse kitchen sink. The grid is custom-fitted, so it won't sit correctly in another bowl even if the nominal size looks close. If you're working on a different BLANCO model, order the grid made for that model rather than trying to make this one work.
2) Does the Blanco 234691 grid have a cutout for the drain?
Yes, there's a center drain opening in the grid, so the strainer or disposal flange stays reachable and water drains straight through instead of pooling under dishes.
3) Will a steel grid scratch the bottom of my sink?
The 234691 grid rides on non-skid protective feet and has side bumpers, so the stainless frame doesn't rest metal-to-metal on the basin or knock against the side walls. That's what keeps it from marking the sink while it takes the hits from pots and pans.
4) Is a bottom grid the same thing as a floating grid?
No. The 234691 is a bottom grid, meaning it sits on the floor of the basin and lets water drain underneath it, so it protects the sink surface and doubles as an in-sink drying rack for glassware and plates. A floating grid instead sits up at a rail near the top of the bowl to create a second work level. BLANCO sells floating grids, colanders and cutting boards as separate accessories if you want that upper tier as well.
5) What part number do I order for the Profina 36 inch farmhouse sink grid in stainless?
BLANCO part number 234691. It's offered in one configuration, a stainless steel finish, so there is no finish or size decision to make on the order, just the quantity you need.
6) What is the Blanco 234691 sink grid made of, and will it rust in daily use?
Stainless steel, described as corrosion-resistant, which is why it holds up sitting in standing water and under wet cookware all day. For a rental unit or a commercial kitchen where a plastic mat would stain and fail, this is the material you want.
7) Can the Blanco 234691 grid go in the dishwasher?
Yes. The grid is dishwasher safe, so cleaning is a matter of pulling it out and running it through rather than scrubbing it in place. Useful when it's specified across a building and housekeeping is handling upkeep.
