Blanco 443035 Air Gap

An air gap breaks the siphon between the dishwasher drain hose and the sink drain. If the drain clogs, waste water gets pushed back up the hose toward the appliance instead of being held out of it, so the dishwasher can't fill with contaminated water. The Blanco 443035 is built for that purpose and meets plumbing code requirements where an air gap is mandated. Many jurisdictions require one on a dishwasher install, so check your local code before deciding to skip it.

It is sized to fit all Blanco faucet holes, so on a Blanco sink deck it drops straight into a spare accessory hole. On a non-Blanco sink or countertop, measure your hole before ordering; the standard deck accessory hole is 1-3/8 inches, which is what most air gaps are cut for.

Model 443035 is the Satin Gold version. The same Blanco air gap is also produced in Polished Chrome, PVD Steel, and Matte Black, so you can match whichever faucet and sink strainer finish is already on the deck.

The Blanco air gap body is solid brass rather than plastic, which matters on units that get hard use or where a tenant may knock the cap off. The finish is a Blanco premium finish that resists tarnishing and corrosion, so it holds up next to a sink that stays wet. For a fleet of kitchens, standardizing on one air gap and one finish also keeps your replacement stock simple.

The 443035 is the air gap fitting itself. Plan on supplying the dishwasher drain hose from the appliance to the air gap inlet and the second length of hose from the air gap outlet down to the disposer or drain tailpiece, plus hose clamps. Those are job-site items and are not part of the air gap.

It is a deck-mounted sink accessory. It installs through a hole in the sink or countertop so the vent chamber sits above the flood rim, which is what makes the air break work. There is no under-counter or in-line version of this part.
