Bobrick 26627 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Does the Bobrick 26627 soap dispenser require proprietary refill cartridges, or can I bulk fill it?
Either works. The 26627 takes foam soap cartridges or bulk-fill foam soap poured into the 500 ml (17 fl oz) reservoir, so a facility already buying bulk foam soap by the gallon isn't locked into a cartridge program. It is foam only, though. Liquid or lotion soap is the wrong fill for this unit.
2) Will the Bobrick 26627 stand up to a high-traffic public restroom and resist tampering?
The body is stainless steel in a satin finish, and the hinged housing locks with a key, so refills and the reservoir stay secured in a public or school washroom. Concealed fasteners mean there is nothing exposed on the face to pry at. Satin stainless also hides fingerprints and water spotting better than a polished face in heavy use.
3) How does the janitor know when the Bobrick 26627 needs refilling without unlocking it?
There is a soap refill window in the housing plus a low soap indicator, so a custodian can read the level on a walk-through and only unlock the units that actually need topping up. On a route with dozens of restrooms that is the difference between opening every dispenser and opening three.
4) Should I use a surface-mounted dispenser like the Bobrick 26627 or a recessed or counter-mounted one?
Surface mount is the choice for retrofit and for block, tile, or solid walls where you cannot cut a cavity. The 26627 fastens to the finished wall face with concealed fasteners and projects 6 inches. Go recessed instead when the corridor or stall clearance cannot give up that projection, and go counter-mounted (deck) when you want nothing on the wall at all and have a lavatory deck to drill.
5) Will the Bobrick 26627 match the other satin stainless washroom accessories in my building?
It ships in one finish, satin stainless steel, which is the standard commercial washroom finish and will read the same as satin stainless grab bars, paper towel dispensers, and napkin units on adjacent walls. There is no polished, powder-coat, or black option on this model.
