Bobrick 35139 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Will the Bobrick B-35139 napkin disposal work recessed, or is it surface mount only?
It mounts on the wall surface out of the box, but the skirt comes off in the field so the unit can be set into a recess instead. That makes it a single part number for jobs where some restrooms have a chase to recess into and others do not.
2) How much wall space do I need for a Bobrick B-35139 sanitary napkin disposal in a toilet compartment?
The unit measures 8-1/16 x 14-1/8 x 4-1/2 inches (205 x 360 x 115mm). The 4-1/2 inch depth is the number that matters in a tight compartment, since that is what projects off the wall next to the fixture when surface mounted.
3) Is the Bobrick B-35139 disposal ADA compliant for a barrier-free restroom?
Yes, the B-35139 is listed as ADA compliant. Mounting height still has to be set on site so the opening falls within reach range for the compartment it serves.
4) What finishes does the Bobrick B-35139 napkin disposal come in?
Two: satin stainless steel and matte black. The matte black is a powder coat over the same stainless body, so if you are standardizing a building on black trim you are not giving up the stainless substrate to get the color.
5) How often will housekeeping need to empty a 0.6 gallon napkin disposal?
Capacity is 0.6 gallon (2.3 L), which is a per-compartment unit sized for one stall on a normal daily service round, not a central collection receptacle. In high-traffic public restrooms plan on servicing it with the same round as the paper, and add units per compartment rather than expecting one to cover a bank of stalls.
6) Does the Bobrick B-35139 door latch, or can it swing open and hit the partition?
The door is held shut by a magnet catch and its travel is controlled by a cable door-swing limiter, so it stops rather than swinging free into an adjacent partition or fixture. There is no key or lock on the door, it opens by hand for servicing.
7) Is the waste bin in the Bobrick B-35139 removable for liner changes?
Yes, the receptacle is a removable waste bin that lifts out of the cabinet, so housekeeping empties and re-lines the liner without unmounting anything from the wall.
8) Will a stainless napkin disposal hold up in a high-traffic commercial restroom?
The body is stainless steel, which is the reason this style is specified for schools, stadiums, and healthcare over painted steel or plastic: it takes cleaning chemicals and abuse without corroding at the door edges. The matte black option is powder coat over that same stainless.
