Keep it out of bathrooms with shower steam, covered exterior soffits, coolers, and anywhere it can see condensation. For a canopy, sign band, or wet area you need a tape rated damp or wet, not this one.

Everything to power it is in the kit: a plug-in driver, the controller/receiver, an IR remote, and two 10-meter reels of tape making up the 64 foot run. No separate transformer, no hardwired power supply, no low voltage feed to run. The driver plugs into a standard receptacle, so the real planning question is where the outlet sits relative to the start of the run.
