TOTO TL220DDH12#CP – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What do I still need to buy to install a TOTO TL220DD faucet?
Water supply hoses are the piece you have to source separately. The faucet ships with the spout, both handles, hot and cold valves, valve-to-spout hoses, and a metal pop-up drain with rod. Valve inlets are 1/2 NPSM, so match your supply risers to that.
2) Should I order the 1.2 GPM or the 1.5 GPM version of the Vivian Alta faucet?
Both flow rates are offered in both finishes and both handle styles. Pick 1.2 GPM where a jurisdiction or a green building program pushes you below 1.5, such as California work, since the faucet is CALGreen and CEC listed. Pick 1.5 GPM for general commercial or residential lavatory use where 1.5 is acceptable. Part numbers carry a 12 in them for the low-flow version, for example TL220DD1H12#CP against TL220DD1H#CP.
3) Is the TOTO Vivian Alta faucet ADA compliant for a commercial restroom?
ADA compliant, and WaterSense certified. The lever-handle versions (TL220DD1H series) are the easier specification for public restrooms since a lever operates without tight grasping; the cross-handle versions carry the same ADA claim but are more often chosen for residential and hospitality work on appearance.
4) Will the Vivian Alta spout clear a vessel or raised bowl?
No, not a vessel. Spout height is 4.75 inches with a 5.56 inch reach, which suits a drop-in or undermount lavatory bowl. A raised vessel bowl needs a taller vessel-height faucet.
5) Do I need to order a separate pop-up drain assembly with this TOTO faucet?
No. A metal pop-up drain and lift rod come in the box with the Vivian Alta widespread faucet, and the hot and cold valves are included as well, so the only loose parts to add are supply hoses.
6) What finishes and handle styles does the TOTO Vivian Alta widespread faucet come in?
Two finishes, Polished Chrome (#CP) and Brushed Nickel (#BN), each available with lever handles or cross handles, and each of those in 1.2 or 1.5 GPM. That is eight orderable part numbers. For a property standardizing across units, every combination exists, so you can match finish across openings without giving up the handle style or flow rate you want.
7) Are the Vivian Alta faucet handles washerless, and what are the internals made of?
The body is brass, and the valves use quarter-turn ceramic disk cartridges rather than rubber washers. For a maintenance crew that means no seat-and-washer rebuilds, and a quarter turn from off to full open at each handle.
