TOTO TCU854BCR#01 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Which Toto toilet does the TCU854BCR#01 tank lid fit?
The TCU854BCR#01 is the vitreous china tank lid for the Toto CST854SB toilet. Because a tank lid is matched to one tank casting, it will not seat correctly on other Toto tanks even if the bowl looks the same. Match the lid to the CST854SB model number stamped inside the tank, not to the toilet's appearance.
2) Is this Toto Promenade II part the tank lid only, or does it include tank trim?
Lid only. TCU854BCR#01 is the china lid itself, with no fill valve, flush valve, trip lever, or tank-to-bowl hardware. If a tenant cracked the lid and the flush components still work, this is the single piece you need; if the trim is also failing, order those parts separately.
3) I manage apartments with Toto one-piece toilets and a few lids are cracked. Can I just replace the lid instead of the whole toilet?
Yes, provided the tanks are CST854SB units. The TCU854BCR#01 lid is sold as a standalone replacement for that model, so a cracked or missing lid does not force a full fixture swap. Walk the units first and confirm the tank model, since lids are model-specific and a lid from another Toto toilet will not sit flat or seal the tank opening.
4) What does the #01 at the end of TCU854BCR#01 mean on Toto parts?
On Toto part numbers the suffix after the hash is the finish code, and #01 is Cotton White. Order the lid in the same code as the toilet, because Toto whites are not interchangeable across codes and a mismatched lid is visible the moment it sits on the tank.
5) Is the Toto TCU854BCR#01 lid plastic or china?
It is vitreous china, the same material as the toilet tank, which is why it matches the tank in color and sheen rather than yellowing like a painted or plastic cover. It also means it is breakable, so support it with both hands when setting it and never rest it on edge against a wall.
