TOTO ABR626S#01DCP – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Is the TOTO Aimes ABR626 a true freestanding tub or does it drop in?
It installs as a drop-in. The tub sets into a deck or surround rather than standing on its own finished skirt, so budget for framing and a finished deck around it. The tub filler is deck mounted and sold separately.
2) Does the floor need reinforcement for the Aimes air tub?
Yes. TOTO calls for floor support under the bath providing a minimum of 75 lbs per square foot loading. The tub itself weighs 199 lbs empty and holds 88 gallons, so the filled and occupied load is what the framing has to carry. On a second floor or over a finished space, have the joists checked before rough-in.
3) Can I get the blower on the left side instead of the right?
Both hands are available. Model ABR626S#01DCP puts the blower on the right side of the tub, and ABR626T#01DCP puts it on the left. Pick the one that puts the blower and its service access on the side where you have wall space and an access panel, because this is fixed at order time and cannot be flipped in the field.
4) What comes in the box with the TOTO Aimes ABR626, and what do I still have to buy?
Shipped with the tub: the drain and overflow assembly, blower and hose, LED lighting kit, air hose, the digital remote, and two detachable waterproof pillows. Not included is the faucet. You need the TOTO Aimes deck mount tub filler trim with handshower separately to finish the job.
5) How deep can you actually fill the Aimes airbath?
The well is 19 inches deep and the water line sits at 15.3 inches to the overflow, which is a deep soak by residential standards. Total capacity is 88 gallons, so size the water heater accordingly if this is the primary tub.
6) What is the difference between an air tub like the Aimes ABR626 and a whirlpool tub?
An air tub pushes warmed air through jets rather than recirculating bathwater through pipes. This one uses 15 air injected jets with pulsating, oscillating and wave massage modes, a 300 watt heated air injection system to hold water temperature, and a final purge cycle that dries each jet after use. That purge is the practical reason many spec writers choose air over whirlpool: there is no standing bathwater left in the lines. The massage is gentler and more diffuse than a whirlpool's directed water jets.
7) What color and drain finishes does the TOTO ABR626 come in?
The tub is offered in Cotton White. The drain and overflow assembly is corrosion resistant and TOTO offers three drain finishes so it can be matched to the rest of the bathroom trim. The tub is built from cast acrylic.
8) Will this tub coordinate with other TOTO fixtures in the bathroom?
It is part of the TOTO Aimes collection, so it is styled to match the rest of the Aimes line, including the Aimes deck mount tub filler trim with handshower that you order alongside it. For a builder standardizing a spec package, that keeps the tub, filler and companion fittings in one design family.
9) Where do I find the rough-in dimensions and install instructions for the ABR626?
TOTO publishes both a spec sheet and an installation sheet for the ABR626, and ZenSupply hosts them on the product record. Pull the installation sheet before framing so the plumber can set the drain location and the access panel for the blower correctly.
