TOTO CST494CEMFG#03 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is the Connelly toilet ADA compliant and what is the seat height?
Yes, the Connelly is ADA compliant and uses TOTO's Universal Height bowl. The rim measures 16-1/8 inches, so with a seat added it lands in the comfort-height range that ADA calls for. For a multi-family or healthcare retrofit where you are replacing standard-height bowls, that is the change your residents will notice first.
2) How much water does the TOTO Connelly use per flush?
Dual flush, 0.9 GPF on the light setting and 1.28 GPF on the full setting. The left-hand chrome trip lever picks between them. It carries WaterSense certification and meets California CEC and CALGreen requirements, which is what you need if you are specifying into a California job or chasing a utility rebate.
3) What comes in the box with the Connelly toilet and what else do I have to buy?
The bowl and tank set ships with the tank-to-bowl gasket, tank-to-bowl hardware, and the toilet bolt caps. You buy separately: wax ring, closet (mounting) bolts, water supply line, and the seat. No seat is included, which catches people out on TOTO. Budget those four items per fixture when you are pricing a multi-unit rollout.
4) Can I order just the Connelly bowl without the tank?
Yes. The Connelly is sold either as the complete two-piece set or as bowl only, and both are offered in Cotton White, Bone, Colonial White, Sedona Beige, and Ebony. Bowl-only is what you want when you are replacing a cracked bowl and the tank is still good. The matching tank for the Bone bowl CT494CEFG#03 is the ST494MA#03.
5) Does the Connelly toilet come with a right-hand flush lever?
Both. The standard Connelly puts the chrome trip lever on the left, and a right-lever version is built as well, for instance the Cotton White set CST494CEMFRG#01. Handing matters when the fixture sits tight against a vanity or a side wall and the lever would be buried. Pick the side before ordering, since the lever position is built into the model number.
6) What is CEFIONTECT on the TOTO Connelly and is it worth specifying?
CEFIONTECT is TOTO's ceramic glaze option, and the Connelly is built both with and without it. You can tell from the model number: a G in the code means the glazed version, so CST494CEMFG#01 is Cotton White with CEFIONTECT and CST494CEMF#51 is Ebony without. For high-traffic restrooms where housekeeping time is the cost, the glazed version is the one to spec.
7) What are the dimensions and weight of the Connelly two-piece toilet?
The complete two-piece set measures 28.75 x 15.875 x 30.25 inches and weighs 101 pounds. The bowl on its own is 28.75 x 15 x 16.5 inches at 70 pounds. That is a two-person carry for the assembled set, and worth knowing before you plan a walk-up delivery or an elevator-less job.
8) Does the Connelly have a concealed trapway and how hard is it to clean?
Concealed and glazed trapway, 2-1/8 inches in diameter. The concealed skirt means there are no exposed trapway contours to trap dust behind the bowl, which is the part cleaning crews skip. The 3D Tornado Flush uses a hole-free rim with three nozzles, so there is no rim channel to scale up either. For hospitality and healthcare housekeeping, those two together are the real argument for this bowl.
9) Can I standardize a whole building on the Connelly in one color?
Yes, and that is a common reason to pick it. Five finishes are built, Cotton White, Bone, Colonial White, Sedona Beige, and Ebony, in both the full set and bowl-only, with left or right lever. Order the set for new installs and keep a couple of bowl-only units in the same finish on the shelf as spares, since a cracked bowl is the usual failure and the tank almost always survives.
10) Is the TOTO Connelly a manual toilet or does it need power or batteries?
Fully manual. The Connelly has no battery and no electrical requirement, it flushes off the chrome trip lever. No outlet needs roughing in behind the fixture, which keeps it straightforward for a retrofit where you are only touching the supply and the flange.
