TOTO C754EF#01 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Does the TOTO Dartmouth C754EF bowl come with a tank, or do I have to order that separately?
The C754EF is a bowl only, and the tank is a separate order. It's built for the Eco Dartmouth ST753E 1.28 gpf tank or the Dartmouth ST753S 1.6 gpf tank, and it also takes the Eco Whitney ST754E 1.28 gpf or Whitney ST754S 1.6 gpf tank. You'll also need a wax ring, toilet mounting bolts, water supply lines, and a seat, none of which ship with the bowl. If you'd rather not source the tank separately, the Dartmouth is also sold as a complete two piece toilet under CST754EF.
2) Is the TOTO Dartmouth toilet ADA compliant for a commercial restroom?
Yes, the Dartmouth bowl is ADA compliant. It uses TOTO's Universal Height, which puts the rim at 16-1/8 inches; adding a seat brings the seated height into the 17 to 19 inch band ADA calls for. That's the same reason property managers and senior housing operators spec it over a standard height bowl, since the taller seat is easier on residents getting up and down.
3) How much water does the TOTO Dartmouth use per flush, and does it meet WaterSense?
It depends on the tank you pair with the bowl. With the Eco Dartmouth ST753E the toilet is 1.28 gallons per flush and meets EPA WaterSense, plus California's CEC and CALGreen requirements, which is what you need if you're specifying into a California job or chasing a green building credit. With the ST753S tank it runs 1.6 gpf. The bowl itself is the same either way, so the tank choice is where the flush volume is decided.
4) Will an elongated Dartmouth bowl fit my bathroom, or do I need a round front?
The Dartmouth is an elongated bowl and it measures 27 inches long by 14 inches wide by 16.5 inches high. Elongated bowls project roughly two inches further into the room than round front bowls, so measure from the finished wall to whatever sits opposite, a vanity, a door swing, or a stall partition. In a tight half bath or a narrow commercial stall that couple of inches is what decides it.
5) What size trapway does the TOTO Dartmouth have, and is it glazed?
The trapway measures 2-1/8 inches and it's fully glazed. Paired with the extra large siphon jet, that's the combination that matters in high traffic buildings, apartments, schools, hotels, where callbacks for clogs cost more than the fixture. The glazed surface gives waste less to catch on through the trap.
6) Can I use the Dartmouth C754EF bowl with a Whitney tank?
Yes. The same bowl is specified for both families, so it works with the Eco Whitney ST754E 1.28 gpf tank or the Whitney ST754S 1.6 gpf tank just as it does with the Dartmouth ST753E and ST753S. That's useful in a building where the tanks differ by unit but you want one bowl on the shelf for replacements.
7) What colors does the TOTO Dartmouth toilet come in?
Two: Cotton White (#01) and Sedona Beige (#12). Both are available as a bowl only and as the complete two piece toilet, so if you're matching an existing washroom or standardizing colors across a building, you can order either configuration in either color. The suffix on the model number is the color, so C754EF#01 is the Cotton White bowl and CST754EF#12 is the Sedona Beige complete toilet.
8) How heavy is the TOTO Dartmouth bowl, and is it a one person set?
The bowl alone is 56.5 pounds. That's a two person lift in practice once you're setting it square on the bolts without dragging the wax ring. The complete two piece CST754EF ships at 96 pounds, since that figure includes the tank. Worth knowing before you plan a multi unit turn or a walk up delivery.
9) Does the TOTO Dartmouth toilet need batteries or power?
No power and no batteries. The Dartmouth is a straight gravity fed two piece toilet, so it needs nothing but a cold water supply. Nothing to fail in a power outage and no maintenance schedule for cells, which is the point for MRO buyers standardizing across a facility.
