TOTO THU458#01 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is TOTO THU458#01 a trip lever or a complete flush valve?
THU458#01 is a toilet trip lever, the handle assembly that mounts through the tank and lifts the flush mechanism. It is the replacement handle part, not a tank-to-bowl kit or a fill valve, so if your tank is leaking or running you are looking at a different part.
2) How do I make sure I order the right TOTO tank lever for my toilet?
Match the part number exactly, including the color suffix: THU458#01. TOTO trip levers are model specific in length, bend, and mounting position, so confirm THU458 is the lever called out for your tank model rather than assuming any TOTO lever will thread in. A property manager standardizing on one toilet model across a building can then reorder the same THU458#01 for every unit.
3) Do I need any tools or extra parts to replace a TOTO toilet trip lever?
The THU458#01 is sold as the lever assembly itself. Replacement is a tank-side job: disconnect the chain or strap from the old lever, back off the retaining nut inside the tank (TOTO nuts are commonly reverse threaded), pull the old lever, and fit the new one. No new chain, flapper, or fill valve comes with it, so if those are worn, order them separately at the same time.
