TOTO THU9495 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What exactly is the Toto THU9495 part - is it the seat or just the bumpers?
THU9495 is a set of seat/lid bumpers only, not a toilet seat. These are the small pads that the seat and lid rest on so they sit level and don't contact the china directly. If the seat itself is cracked or the hinges are broken, bumpers won't fix it.
2) My toilet seat rocks and slides sideways - will replacing the bumpers fix that?
Usually yes. Worn or missing bumpers are the most common cause of a seat that shifts or rocks, because the pads are what hold the seat off the bowl rim and take the load. Replacing the THU9495 bumper set restores that contact before you start chasing loose hinge bolts.
3) Do I need any tools or extra hardware to replace Toto lid bumpers?
Nothing beyond the bumper set itself for most jobs. Toto seat bumpers either press into a hole in the underside of the seat or thread in by hand. You do not need to pull the seat hinges or touch the closet bolts to swap them.
4) Is THU9495 sold as a single bumper or as a set?
THU9495 is Toto's bumper set part for the G500, covering the bumpers for the unit rather than a single loose pad. Order by the part number and you get the bumper package Toto ships for that seat.
