TOTO THU6714 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What is the TOTO THU6714 part?
THU6714 is a TOTO lid and seat bumper assembly, the replacement bumper set that cushions the tank lid and the seat against the china. It's sold as a replacement part in the Cotton Silver finish, so it's what you order when the original bumpers are torn, flattened, or missing and the lid rattles or the seat sits crooked.
2) Is the TOTO THU6714 a replacement part or a complete toilet seat?
It's a replacement part, not a seat. THU6714 is the lid and seat bumper assembly only, the small cushioning hardware. If the seat itself is cracked or the hinges are broken, this won't solve it, you need the seat assembly for that model instead.
3) Will the TOTO THU6714 bumper assembly fit any TOTO toilet?
Order by part number, not by guesswork. TOTO publishes bumper assemblies per model, and THU6714 is the specific Cotton Silver assembly, so match it to the THU number called out for your toilet or seat rather than assuming it crosses the line. Bumper spacing and post size vary between TOTO models.
4) How many bumpers come in the TOTO THU6714 kit?
THU6714 is sold as an assembly covering both the lid and the seat bumpers, so it's the full bumper set for one toilet rather than a single pad. For a property manager doing several units, that means one part number per toilet.
5) My TOTO toilet seat slides sideways when someone sits on it, do I need new bumpers?
Worn or missing bumpers are the usual cause. The bumper assembly is what grips the china and holds the seat square, and once the rubber flattens or tears the seat shifts under load and the lid clacks when it drops. THU6714 is the lid and seat bumper replacement assembly in Cotton Silver, and swapping it is a lot cheaper than replacing the whole seat when the seat itself is still sound.
