TOTO THU9674 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What exactly comes in the TOTO THU9674 kit?
THU9674 is a set of two toilet seat bumpers. It's the small contact pad pair that sits between the seat and the china, sold as a 2-piece replacement part rather than a complete seat.
2) My TOTO toilet seat slides around and scuffs the bowl. Is this the part I need?
If the seat is shifting or the underside is contacting bare china, worn or missing bumpers are the usual cause, and THU9674 is TOTO's replacement bumper pair for a toilet seat. It restores the spacing and grip between seat and bowl. If the wobble is instead at the hinge posts, the bumpers won't fix it, you need seat mounting hardware.
3) Does the THU9674 bumper set include seat bolts or hinges?
No. THU9674 is bumpers only, two pieces. Bolts, nuts, hinge posts and cover caps are separate TOTO parts, so if you're rebuilding the whole seat attachment you'll need to order those alongside it.
4) I manage a building with TOTO fixtures. Can I stock this as a general toilet seat repair part?
It's a TOTO toilet seat bumper pair, part number THU9674, so it is a genuine OEM spare rather than a universal pad. For a fleet of TOTO seats it's a sensible consumable to keep on the shelf, but match the part number to the seat model you're maintaining, since TOTO uses different bumper parts across its seat lines.
5) Will generic hardware-store toilet seat bumpers work instead of THU9674?
Generic stick-on pads can sit at a different height or diameter than the TOTO original, which changes how the seat rests and can leave it rocking or let the lid strike the tank. THU9674 is the TOTO bumper pair made for the seat, so it reproduces the original spacing. That matters most on soft-close TOTO seats where the geometry is tighter.
