The TOTO T40 WASHLET+ Nexus Two-Piece Elongated 1.28 GPF Toilet and WASHLET C2 Bidet Seat is designed to conceal the WASHLET power cord and water supply hose for a seamless installation. Part of the newly redesigned C Series, the WASHLET C2 features a soft rear spray, rear cleanse, and front cleanse with the option of an oscillating stream. The temperature and pressure of the water are adjustable with three temperature settings and five pressure settings. The controls are located on a convenient arm control panel. PREMIST wets the surface of the toilet bowl, aiding in the removal of waste and resulting in a better clean. The C2 model utilizes TOTO's EWATER+ system when the wand self-cleans. EWATER+ transforms the water into a safe and powerful compound, creating peace of mind by cleaning the inside and outside of the wand before and after every use. The WASHLET features a heated SoftClose seat with three temperature settings. The Nexus toilet features TOTO's TORNADO FLUSH, a hole-free rim design with dual-nozzles that creates a centrifugal washing action that assists in rinsing the bowl more efficiently. This version of the TOTO Nexus includes CEFIONTECT, a layer of ceramic glaze that minimizes waste from sticking to ceramic surfaces. This feature, coupled with the WASHLET PREMIST and TORNADO FLUSH, assists to reduce the frequency of toilet cleanings, minimizing the usage of water, harsh chemicals, and time required for cleaning. The TOTO Nexus is designed in TOTO's Universal Height, which allows for a more comfortable seat position across a wide range of users. This WASHLET+ includes the WASHLET with water supply adapter, Nexus bowl and tank set with hardware, and toilet bolt caps. Compatible with T40 WASHLET+ electronic bidet seat and toilet bowl components only. The Nexus may be adapted for 10" or 14" rough-in with the purchase of a separately sold rough-in. Additional items needed for installation must be purchased separately: wax ring, toilet mounting bolts, and toilet water supply lines.

TOTO MW4423074CEFG#01 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What rough-in does the TOTO Nexus WASHLET+ toilet require, and can it work on a 10 inch or 14 inch rough-in?
The Nexus is a 12 inch rough-in, floor mount toilet with a floor outlet. If the waste line measures 10 or 14 inches from the finished wall, it can still be used with a separately sold adapter: TSU01W.10R for 10 inch and TSU01W.14R for 14 inch. Neither adapter is included in the box, so it has to go on the order alongside the toilet.
2) Does the TOTO Nexus WASHLET+ toilet need an electrical outlet behind it?
Yes. The WASHLET seat is a powered bidet seat with heated water, a heated seat, a warm air dryer, and a deodorizer, so it needs receptacle power at the fixture. What makes the WASHLET+ version different from a standard bidet seat retrofit is that the toilet is built to hide the power cord and the water supply hose behind the skirting, so there is no cord running across the wall. Plan a GFCI receptacle within reach of the toilet before setting the bowl.
3) Is the TOTO Nexus toilet ADA compliant, and what is the actual seat height?
ADA compliant, and it is built to TOTO's Universal Height. Seat height is 17-5/8 inches with a rim height of 16-1/8 inches. That puts the seating surface in the 17 to 19 inch band ADA calls for on a water closet, measured to the top of the seat. It is also WaterSense, CALGreen, and CEC compliant at 1.28 gallons per flush, which matters on California and green-code jobs.
4) Can I put a different brand of bidet seat on the TOTO Nexus WASHLET+ toilet later?
No. The Nexus WASHLET+ bowl is cut for T40 WASHLET+ components only, and the bowl and seat are matched so the supply hose and cord route inside the skirt. A generic bidet seat, or a TOTO seat outside the T40 WASHLET+ range, will not land on the concealed connections. If you want the freedom to swap seats later, buy a standard Nexus bowl with a Slim or Standard seat instead of the WASHLET+ configuration.
5) Should I order the one piece or two piece TOTO Nexus?
Both are offered. The one piece has no tank to bowl seam, which is the joint that collects grime and eventually needs a new gasket, so it is the easier one to keep clean in a high traffic or hospitality washroom. The two piece is the lower profile of the two at 27 inches tall versus 28-11/16 inches, and it comes apart into two lighter pieces, which matters carrying a 117 pound fixture up stairs or into a tight second floor bath. Flush performance is the same either way, 1.28 GPF TORNADO FLUSH.
6) Is CEFIONTECT glaze worth ordering on a TOTO Nexus, and how do I tell which one I am getting?
CEFIONTECT is a ceramic glaze layer that keeps waste from clinging to the bowl surface, so paired with PREMIST and the TORNADO FLUSH it cuts how often the bowl needs scrubbing. On a rental portfolio or a facility where cleaning labor is the real cost, that is the version to specify. The Nexus is sold both with and without it. In the model number, the G suffix marks the glazed version: MS442124CEFG is the CEFIONTECT model, MS442124CEF is not.
7) What is the difference between the C2 and C5 WASHLET seat on the TOTO Nexus?
Both are T40 WASHLET+ seats and both give you a heated SoftClose seat, adjustable front and rear warm water washing with three temperature and five pressure settings, an oscillating stream option, a warm air dryer with three settings, an automatic deodorizer, PREMIST, and an arm control panel. The C2 uses EWATER+ to clean the wand inside and out before and after every use. If EWATER+ is the feature you are after, the C2 carries it. Both seats mount to the same concealed WASHLET+ connections on the Nexus bowl.
8) Will the TOTO Nexus clog easily, and what flush valve does it use?
The Nexus runs a 3 inch flush valve into a 2-1/8 inch trapway, with TORNADO FLUSH moving 1.28 gallons through a hole-free rim with dual nozzles for a centrifugal rinse. The 3 inch valve is the wide one TOTO uses to dump the tank fast, which is what carries a 1.28 gallon flush. The CEFIONTECT versions add a glaze that keeps waste off the ceramic on the way out.
9) What colors does the TOTO Nexus come in, and which one matches an existing TOTO fixture?
Five colors: Cotton White, Colonial White, Bone, Sedona Beige, and Ebony. TOTO codes them in the model number, so match the suffix on the fixture already installed. Cotton White is #01, Colonial White is #11, Bone is #03, Sedona Beige is #12, and Ebony is #51. Reading the suffix off the existing lavatory or toilet is more reliable than matching by eye, since Cotton White and Colonial White are close in the room but not the same.
10) Which side is the flush lever on the TOTO Nexus, and does it matter in a tight alcove?
The trip lever is on the left side of the tank. In an alcove or a compartment where the toilet is boxed in on the left by a wall or a vanity, that is worth checking before the bowl is set, because the lever side is fixed. Fixture is a floor mount, floor outlet toilet, so the tank position relative to the wall is set by the 12 inch rough-in.
11) Does the TOTO Nexus WASHLET remote need batteries, and are they included?
Alkaline batteries come in the box. The WASHLET itself is powered from the concealed cord, so the batteries are for the control, and the C2 and C5 seats also carry an arm control panel on the seat, which means the toilet still operates if the remote batteries die.
12) What are the component part numbers inside a TOTO Nexus WASHLET+ so I can order a replacement piece?
A Nexus WASHLET+ assembly is built from four ordering components: bowl CT442CUFGT40#01, tank ST442EA#01, WASHLET seat SW3074T40#01, and the connection kit 9AU321-A. If a tank cracks or a seat fails, you replace the piece rather than the whole fixture. Note the color suffix, #01 is Cotton White, so a Bone or Ebony installation takes the matching suffix on the ceramic pieces.
