TOTO THU9874#12 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What is TOTO part THU9874 and what does it do?
THU9874 is a TOTO screw cap, a small trim cap that covers an exposed mounting screw on TOTO bath fixtures and washroom accessories. It is a replacement trim piece only, not a mounting kit, so order it when the original cap is lost, cracked, or discolored and you want the fastener hidden again.
2) Which TOTO screw cap number do I give my supplier so I get the right color?
Order by the full designation THU9874#12. On TOTO parts the number after the hash is the color code, and dropping it leaves the color unspecified, so a THU9874 request alone can come back in a shade that does not match your fixture. Keep the #12 suffix on the purchase order.
3) Is a TOTO screw cap a plumbing part or a fixture accessory?
It is a plumbing trim accessory. The cap is a non-functional cover piece for a fixture mounting screw, so it has no effect on water supply, drainage, or flush performance. Replacing one is a hand-tight job with no plumbing work involved.
