TOTO THP5638#PBR – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is the TOTO THP5638#PBR a complete handshower kit or just the bar?
Just the slide bar and its shower hanger. If you are specifying a full handshower setup, you still need the handshower head, the hose, and a supply elbow or diverter to feed it. Order those separately.
2) What is the TOTO THP5638 used for in a shower?
The TOTO THP5638 is a slide bar with a shower hanger, the vertical bar a handshower rides on so the spray head can be raised, lowered, and angled. It is intended for shower and tub applications. The hanger (the sliding bracket) is part of the assembly, so the bar and the holder come together; the handshower and hose are separate items.
3) What part number do I give my supplier for the TOTO slide bar shower hanger?
Order it as TOTO THP5638#PBR. That is the manufacturer part number for the slide bar with shower hanger, and the one to quote when matching an existing TOTO shower trim package.
4) Does the TOTO THP5638 come in more than one finish?
It is sold as a single configuration, TOTO part number THP5638#PBR. The #PBR suffix is TOTO's finish code carried in the part number, so there is one finish option to order rather than a finish to select separately.
5) Can a slide bar like the TOTO THP5638 be used over a tub as well as in a shower stall?
Yes. The THP5638 slide bar is rated by TOTO for both shower and tub use, which is the common case for a handshower on a tub/shower combination where you want the head low enough to reach a bather.
