TOTO THP4944#BN – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What exactly comes with TOTO THP4944#BN?
THP4944#BN is a TOTO service part kit containing the tub spout diverter and diverter knob, plus the mounting hardware for the handshower outlet. It is the diverter assembly only, not a complete tub spout or valve.
2) My tub spout diverter knob is stuck or leaking past to the showerhead. Is this the right repair part?
Yes, if the fixture is a TOTO tub spout with a handshower outlet. A diverter that will not hold flow at the spout is the diverter cartridge and knob, which is what THP4944#BN replaces. A leak coming from the valve body or the shower riser instead is a different part.
3) Can a property manager use this TOTO diverter kit on any brand of tub spout?
No. THP4944#BN is a TOTO service part machined for TOTO tub spouts with a handshower outlet. It will not fit a Delta, Moen, or Kohler spout. Pull the TOTO model number off the existing trim before ordering so the diverter and knob match what is on the wall.
4) Is the TOTO THP4944 diverter part available in finishes other than brushed nickel?
Only brushed nickel. The #BN suffix on TOTO part numbers denotes brushed nickel, and THP4944#BN is the single finish offered for this diverter and knob kit. If your trim is polished chrome or another finish, you need the matching TOTO suffix for that finish instead.
5) Is this diverter for a tub and shower combination or a shower only?
Tub and shower. The diverter sits in the tub spout and redirects flow to the handshower outlet, so it only applies where there is a tub spout in the system. A shower-only installation has no spout diverter to replace.
