No. The 100 hinged hasp is built for doors that close flush, meaning the door leaf and frame sit level with each other. For an opening where the leaf and frame are not level, or for a corner application, ABUS makes 'DG' versions with a double joint that handle the offset. Fitting the standard 100 to an out-of-plane opening puts the staple off-line with the hasp plate and it won't close properly.
2) Does the ABUS 100 hasp come with a lock, or do I need to buy a padlock separately?
A padlock is not included. The 100 hasp and staple is the mounting hardware only, and it is meant to be used with a padlock you supply. Budget for the padlock as a separate line when you order, and size its shackle to pass through the staple.
3) What is the difference between the 60mm and 80mm ABUS 100 hasp?
Size is the choice, and it changes more than length. The 100 hasp is offered in 60mm and 80mm, and ABUS hardens the staple from size 80 upward. So the 80mm gets a hardened steel staple while the 60mm does not. If theft resistance is the reason you are fitting it, go to the 80mm.
4) Can a thief just unscrew or drive out the pin on the ABUS 100 hasp once it's locked?
Not while the padlock is on. The 100 hasp uses a concealed hinge pin and hidden screws, so with the hasp closed and a padlock through the staple, the fixings and the pin are covered and cannot be reached. That is the whole point of the design compared with an open hasp where the screw heads sit exposed.
5) Can I use the ABUS 100 hasp outdoors on a yard gate?
