Adams Rite 41-0942-01-130-IB – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Is the Adams Rite 41-0942-01-130-IB a complete lockset or just a part?
It is a single component, not a lock. Part number 41-0942-01-130-IB is the interior-side escutcheon operator for the Adams Rite 4189 Flush Lockset, supplied as an OEM replacement part. If the lock body, exterior trim or latch is also damaged, you will need those ordered separately.
2) My 4189 flush lockset interior lever is broken. Can I replace just that side instead of the whole lock?
Yes, that is exactly what this part is for. The interior escutcheon operator installs into the existing 4189 Flush Lockset assembly, so you can restore the inside operating side without pulling and replacing the entire lock. It keeps the opening on OEM parts and shortens the door downtime for a maintenance call.
3) What finish is the Adams Rite 4189 interior escutcheon and will it match my existing storefront hardware?
It comes in one finish, 130 aluminum, Satin Aluminum Ritecoat paint. That is the standard clear-anodized-look finish most aluminum storefront doors are specified in, so on a building already running Adams Rite 4189 hardware in aluminum it will read the same across the openings. If your doors are dark bronze or black, this piece will not match.
4) Will this Adams Rite escutcheon work on a Schlage or other brand lockset?
No. This escutcheon operator is machined for the Adams Rite 4189 Flush Lockset and nothing else. For electronic trim on other platforms the parts are brand-specific too, for example the Schlage Electronics 47260707 exterior escutcheon serves CO-100 cylindrical and mortise locks with a keypad. Match the escutcheon to the lock family already in the door.
5) I need a keypad escutcheon on an aluminum storefront door instead of a mechanical operator - what should I look at?
The Adams Rite 41-0942-01-130-IB is a purely mechanical interior operator trim for the 4189 Flush Lockset. If the opening calls for credential entry instead, the Schlage Electronics 47260707 is a CO Series exterior keypad escutcheon for cylindrical and mortise locks and ships with fasteners and an O-ring, while the Schlage Electronics 47260708 is the CO-100 keypad escutcheon sized for exit trim and finished in aged bronze. Which one applies depends on whether the door carries a cylindrical/mortise lock or an exit device.
6) Is the MS Sedco ESC escutcheon plate an alternative to the Adams Rite 4189 escutcheon?
No. The MS Sedco ESC is a decorative stainless escutcheon plate for R4 and R6 round switches, so it trims a push-switch actuator rather than a lock. The Adams Rite 41-0942-01-130-IB is the interior operator component of the 4189 Flush Lockset and carries the lever operation of the lock itself, in a satin aluminum Ritecoat paint finish. They serve different devices on the door and are not interchangeable.
7) Is the Adams Rite 4189 escutcheon operator rated for commercial traffic?
It is a commercial-grade component, built to Adams Rite's commercial hardware standards and used in office buildings, retail storefronts, schools, healthcare and government facilities. The Ritecoat paint finish adds wear and corrosion resistance for entrance doors that see weather and heavy daily use.
8) For matching finishes across a storefront entrance, how do these escutcheon options differ?
The Adams Rite 41-0942-01-130-IB comes in 130 aluminum, a satin aluminum Ritecoat paint finish intended to match existing 4189 flush lockset hardware. The MS Sedco ESC is a stainless steel decorative plate, and the Schlage Electronics 47260708 CO Series exit trim escutcheon is aged bronze. If the goal is finish consistency with an installed 4189 lockset, the Adams Rite part is the one that carries the matching Ritecoat appearance.
