1) What is the Securitron ASB-62 spacer bracket used for?
The ASB-62 is an aluminum shim bracket for the Securitron M62 Magnalock. When a door frame has a blade stop, the lock body sits too high to line up with the armature, and the bracket lowers the Magnalock so the two meet flat. It also provides a blind nut so the strike can be surface installed.
2) My M62 mag lock won't sit flush because of the door stop. What do I order?
That is exactly the case the ASB-62 aluminum spacer bracket handles. A blade stop on the frame forces the Magnalock down off the mounting surface, and this shim drops the lock so its face and the armature make full contact. Order it in black or clear anodized to suit the opening.
3) Do I need to drill the Securitron shim bracket for the mag lock bolts myself?
No drilling. The bracket ships pre-drilled for the M62's mounting bolts and for the wire pass-through, so it mounts to the frame and the lock lands on it without any field prep on the bracket itself.
