AC Series 2-Door Expander Board
The AC-2DE is a two-door expander board. Up to three AC-2DE modules can be added to an ACS-2DR starter kit for a max capacity of eight doors.
The expander board has two card reader inputs, six digital inputs, four solid state dry contact relays, and two integrated lock power outputs. Communicating via RS485, this controller can be connected via AC-STRIP or standard RS485 wiring.

1) How many doors can I add to an Aiphone AC Series system with AC-2DE expander boards?
Each AC-2DE adds two doors, and up to three of them can be added to an ACS-2DR starter kit. That takes a system to a maximum of eight doors. If your project needs more openings than that, you are into a second controller set rather than more expanders.
2) Does the AC-2DE expander board need its own power supply?
No separate supply for the board itself. The AC-2DE draws its 12V DC operating power from the main board. It does carry two integrated lock power outputs rated 12V DC at 500mA, so if your locks pull more than 500mA each you will need a dedicated lock power supply for them.
3) How is the Aiphone AC-2DE wired back to the main controller?
It communicates over RS485. You can run it on Aiphone's AC-STRIP or on standard RS485 cable, so an existing RS485 backbone in the building works without special interface hardware.
