AC NIO License
AC Nio is management software for the AC Series access control system. It is used to program a system and manage everyday functionality. There are two license options available to accommodate different applications.
The Essential license can manage a system of up to 40 doors and cameras. It can be installed on a local server PC or on the AC-HOST embedded server.
The Small Business license can manage up to 80 doors and cameras, as well as elevators and unmanaged doors. This license allows up to five partitions and supports Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) integration.
Both the AC Nio Essential and Small Business license are available in a 1- or 5-year renewal schedule.

2) What is the difference between the AC Nio Essential and Small Business licenses?

3) Do I need a separate server PC to run AC Nio Essential, or can it run on the AC-HOST?
Either way works. The Essential license can be installed on a local server PC or directly on the AC-HOST embedded server, so a small site can skip the dedicated PC entirely.
4) Is the AC Nio Essential license a one-time purchase or does it renew?
It's a term license. The Essential license is ordered on a 1-year or 5-year renewal schedule, sold as AC-NIO-ESS1 for one year and AC-NIO-ESS5 for five years. Pick the term when you order.
5) What are the PC requirements for AC Nio management software?

6) What does AC Nio actually do for an access control system?
AC Nio is the management software for the Aiphone AC Series. It's what you use to program the system in the first place and then run it day to day, managing doors, cameras and credentials. Without a license the AC Series hardware has nothing to program it.
7) Does AC Nio Essential support multiple partitions for separate tenants or departments?
No. Partitioning is a Small Business license feature, which allows up to five partitions along with LDAP integration. If you need to segment a building by tenant or department, or tie user records to a directory, Essential won't do it.
8) Can AC Nio Essential control elevators?
No. Elevator control and unmanaged doors are covered by the Small Business license, not Essential. Essential is limited to managed doors and cameras, up to 40 of them.
9) Is the Aiphone AC Nio Essential license meant for commercial buildings?
