1) What is the difference between the Aiphone GT-DMBN-SSP and the standard GT-DMB-N entrance station?
Functionally, nothing. The GT-DMBN-SSP is the same NFC entrance station as the GT-DMB-N, just modified in size so it drops into the Pedestal Pro Model 64TOW-AIP-001-304 tower. 2) Can I mount the Aiphone GT-DMBN-SSP entrance station in a standard surface box or flush frame?
No. The SSP version is sized specifically for the Pedestal Pro 64TOW-AIP-001-304 tower and that tower is a separate purchase. If you are mounting in a wall box or standard GT flush/surface frame, order the standard GT-DMB-N instead, which is the same station in the normal size.
3) Will the Aiphone GT-DMBN-SSP hold up outdoors in a parking-lot pedestal?
It is built for exterior gate and drive-up duty: stainless steel face, vandal resistant, IP43 protection rating, and rated from -22 to 140 degrees F (-30 to 60 C). IP43 covers spray from above, so keep it out of direct standing water or high-pressure washdown.
4) Can the GT-DMBN-SSP entrance station release my gate or door strike directly?
Yes. It carries a Form C dry contact door release rated 24V AC/DC at 4A, so it can switch a strike, maglock or gate operator input directly within that rating. Higher-draw locks need a relay or separate power supply.
5) What wire do I need to run for an Aiphone GT Series entrance station?
Two conductor, solid, non-shielded with PE insulation. Aiphone calls out #872002 for audio runs and #871802 for video. Spec the wire before the trench or conduit goes in, since the station is the head end of a multi-tenant system.
